Killingworth is a rural community of some 6,000 people, located in Middlesex County, Connecticut. Established in 1667, the town recently celebrated its 350th anniversary. A number of historical buildings have survived the centuries; this site, however, exists to catalog those which have not. Of the many mills, farms, and forges that have existed in Killingworth through the years, most have been reclaimed by nature. Most Killingworth residents live in close proximity to that history; the stone walls that once defined the boundaries of farms still stand, lining modern-day roads and yards. However, many of the remaining structures are less readily accessible. This page aims to make available imagery and information about those historical sites.
